A three-day road trip opens the door to a different kind of water world. Each day of the journey has its own character. You can enjoy the full route or choose the parts that are most exciting for your family.

In Rapla County, you’ll discover მშვიდ bog trails and ancient lakes, and visit the town of Rapla on the banks of the Vigala River.
In Harju County, experience the power of water at Keila Waterfall and peer into the blue depths of Rummu Quarry.
In Lääne County, you’ll be welcomed by the seaside and singing sands. Stroll along the promenade of Haapsalu or enjoy water-based experiences in the town’s spas.

Follow the traces of water—from the bogs to the Baltic Sea!

Day 1: Welcome to Raplamaa

The journey begins in mystical, lush Rapla County, inviting you to wander through its bogs and drift along the Vigala River in a raft sauna.

Mukri is one of the oldest bogs in Estonia and a perfect destination for families looking to explore a peaceful and accessible nature trail. The boardwalk loop is about 2.5 km long, making it ideal for younger children to walk. Along the way, you’ll pass a watchtower with wide views over the bog landscape and a quiet dark bog lake – great for nature photos, swimming and spotting birds. Mukri is also an excellent spot for a family picnic. There are several resting areas along the trail where you can sit down, enjoy the fresh air, and have a snack or lunch, so it’s a good idea to bring your own food and drinks along.

Those looking for a slightly longer hike should set their course for the Loosalu–Paluküla Nature Trail (7.7 km). Along the way, you can refresh yourself with a dip in Loosalu Bog Lake, the largest bog lake in Estonia.

Take your water adventures to the next level at Parveküla (Raft village), where a floating raft sauna can be rented. When prebooked then you can take part of guided canoe trips

After bog and water adventures, travelers are welcomed to Rapla, a pleasant spot to enjoy a family meal in one of the local cafes. The town’s calm atmosphere and scenic charm are enhanced by the riverside promenade along the Vigala River. 

Märjamaa Hostel & Pub: enjoy great food, a friendly atmosphere, and a wide selection of drinks. Pub menu is based on fresh local ingredients, featuring delicious dinners and daily specials. Located 20 min drive from Rapla. 

Ruunawere Post manor and restaurant: a historic manor stay with a relaxing sauna complex.  Food served in the historic post station building and their speciality is homemade pekileib (lard bread), which is served with every dish — don't miss it!

Paluküla holiday house-  private log house fits up to 8 persons. Hot tub, sauna and pond for swimming. Children have their own playground. 

Märjamaa sports hall complex accommodation fits 1-6 persons in a room and offers  affordable accommodation in simple yet comfortable rooms, along with excellent sports and leisure facilities.


2. päev: Further to Harju County

The landscape slowly shifts from quiet fields to more dramatic nature – and your next stop is one of Estonia’s most beautiful waterfalls. Keila waterfall, surrounded by a park and walking trails, offers a refreshing and scenic break for both kids and adults. Just nearby, make sure to stop at Ott & Matilda café – a charming spot with delicious pastries, warm drinks and a cosy atmosphere perfect for a light lunch or treat before the next adventure.

Keila Waterfall is one of the standout sights of Harju County and an ideal stop for families. Just a short walk from the parking area, the waterfall impresses with its լայն curtain of water cascading over limestone. A marked hiking trail winds through the surrounding park, where you can cross suspension bridges and enjoy scenic river views. The area is also suitable for strollers and not too demanding for little legs.

Continue your journey towards Laulasmaa. Nestled in a pine forest near the beach, the LaSpa Water and Sauna Center offers a family-friendly complex with a wide range of pools and saunas. Children can enjoy the kids’ pool, while adults relax in aroma or steam saunas, or take part in guided sauna rituals.

For seaside pleasures, head to Kloogaranna Beach. Once one of the most popular beaches in the region, it now offers all modern amenities, including accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers, as well as opportunities for beach sports.

Rummu Quarry and the former prison area provide families with a unique combination of striking natural scenery and exciting activities. The crystal-clear lake, formed by the flooding of a former limestone quarry, is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and—for the more adventurous—diving. Those seeking a bit of adventure can also try snorkeling and glimpse the mysterious submerged building remains beneath the surface.

Kallaste Farm and holiday house offers accommodation in the heart of the forest for visitors and families with varying preferences and budgets. 

Rummu Quarry features a small café and a self-service kiosk open during the summer, along with an exciting accommodation option in container houses and a parking area for caravans.

Day 3: Quieter rhythms of Läänemaa

In Lääne County, make your way through the Nõva region, the town of Haapsalu, and Paralepa, then continue towards Matsalu National Park. The Nõva area is a true oasis for those who appreciate scenic nature, tranquility, and quality time with family.

The seaside town of Haapsalu, on the shores of the Baltic Sea, is often called the “Venice of the North.” This calm and picturesque resort town is an ideal destination for families seeking a balance between nature, culture, and adventure.

When it’s time to move on, the coastal road leads you towards the hidden treasures of Lääne County—ahead await romantic Haapsalu and its bird-rich bays. Haapsalu, a gem on the Baltic Sea, is a calm and picturesque town, perfect for romantics. A walk along the seaside promenade takes you through historic views. One particularly special moment awaits by Gulf Tagalaht, where you can watch swans and enjoy the soothing silence.

Just a short walk from the heart of Haapsalu lies Paralepa Beach—a green oasis on the sandy shore of the bay. 

Nestled between pine forest and sea is the family-friendly Fra Mare Thalasso Spa Hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy spa pleasures, including various saunas and a pool area.

Nõva Hostel in Nõva offers simple and family-friendly accommodation next to the bakery and tourist info stop, with nature trails and a sandy beach just a short walk away.

Müüriääre Cafe is another cozy cafe where to start with a breakfast or enjoy sandwiches, salads and pastries and stretch legs before next hike in area.

Windows XP’s leiad Magnifier’i kui liigud Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > Magnifier.

Apple arvutitel tuleb suurendamise kasutamiseks navigeerida järgnevalt: Apple menüü > System Preferences > Accessibility (või Universal Access) > Zoom.
